Micro MV Digital Video Tape
Micro MV was first introduced by Sony in the early 2000’s. This format is very rare and was eventually abandoned. The introduction of Mini DV led to Sony discontinuing the format in favor of the Mini DV format.
Micro MV is the smallest video tape format and measures only 30 x 45 x 8 mm.
Micro MV records SD (720 x 576) video as a MPEG 2 12mbps and although it has an iLink / firewire connector it is not compatible with standard firewire devices that use the DV25 system.
