Betacam SX to digital file conversion
Betacam SX – Introduced as a cheaper alternative to Digital Betacam around 1996.
Betacam SX is a digital version of Betacam SP and records video as MPEG2. Betacam SP tapes can be used for Betacam SX recording and most SX decks will play SP tapes. This is not the case for SP decks being able to play SX tapes. SX tapes can be identified by having yellow cases.

We can transfer Betacam SX to digital files for use in archiving or editing applications. We can supply the files as compressed MP4 or uncompressed MOV.
Upscaling

Real time hardware upscaling and deinterlacing for analogue standard definition video formats. Scale from standard definition 720×576 to 720p or 1080p.
Mould and moisture damage

Betacam SX video tapes are very susceptible to damage from moisture and incorrect storage. Long term exposure to moisture can cause irreversible damage. If there are signs of mould on the tape, consider getting them digitized sooner rather than later. Mould damaged tape can be saved, see our tape repair page.
